This week's focus: Energy
A person who has energy, or zest, is a person who approaches life with excitement and enthusiasm. Having energy will help you be a happier, more optimistic person. It will help you overcome obstacles so you can keep working towards your goals. Energy is part of what makes life more colorful, exciting, and busy- the good kind of busy! Without energy, you may find yourself unable to finish your tasks, not willing to try new things, and not finding joy in your daily life.
This week's growth mindset challenge is... squats! Over the course of the week, allow your students to practice having a growth mindset and give them the opportunity to improve the number of squats they can do at one time, or within a set amount of time.

Please integrate at least one of these games into your sessions this week. While doing so, please also incorporate a discussion about energy.
Don't forget to end each session with a Mindful Moment! This week's Mindful Moment is Heartbeat Exercise
Goal: This exercise is to bring awareness to slowing down and getting your energy up. The heartbeat exercise is a wonderful grounding activity because it allows your child to focus on the body’s sensations. This exercise is a wonderful activity to do if your child is feeling stressed or anxious.
- Ask students to jump up and down for 20 seconds.
- At the end of the 20 seconds have students stop and place their hands on their hearts.
- Have students take their time and move into their seated body posture.
- Ask students how long it takes from them to feel their hearts slow down as their bodies slow down.
- Have students close their eyes and take a deep breath in through their noses and out through their moves.
